Collaborate
Collaborative editorial portraits
Selective creative collaboration with people who express identity through body, craft, or physical discipline — artists, creators, actors, performers, and people in training at any stage. Not headshots, not events, not promo — just presence and honest expression.
01What these are
Editorial-style portraiture rooted in embodiment rather than performance. Sessions are calm, observational, and unforced — often in real-world places that hold meaning for you: training spaces, studios, outdoor locations.
The work sits between documentary and editorial portraiture. It values realism, restraint, and longevity over trends and polish.
02Who it's for
For people comfortable being seen without exaggeration:
- Artists and creators
- Actors and performers
- Dancers and movement-based practitioners
- Athletes and people in physical training
- Anyone whose relationship with their body is part of their identity
No modelling experience needed. Willingness to be present is the whole brief.
03What this is not
To save us both a polite email exchange, these collaborations are not:
- Free photography services on demand
- Corporate or professional headshots
- Event or group coverage
- Influencer or brand campaigns
- Family or lifestyle portraits
Commissioned and commercial work is a separate conversation — get in touch for that.
04Why I offer this
Collaboration is where I get to work without a brief, a brand voice, or a promotional objective — and many of the strongest images in my portfolio came from exactly these sessions. Some collaborators later commission projects; others simply contribute to a shared body of work that values honesty and embodied presence. No obligation either way.
05What to expect
- A considered portrait session in a meaningful environment
- Minimal direction and a calm working pace
- A small selection of edited images for personal use
- Selected images may appear in my portfolio and editorial work
Details are agreed in advance, project by project.
06How to apply
If this resonates, send a short introduction:
- Who you are and what you do
- Why you're interested in collaborating
- Any relevant links or references
Requests are reviewed selectively and I respond where there's a clear creative fit. Shoots take place in Singapore.
Questions, answered
- Is this a free photoshoot?
- When a project starts as a personal or editorial study, there is no fee — it is a creative collaboration, not a commercial service. Commissioned work with a defined brief is priced separately.
- Who do you collaborate with?
- Artists, performers, creators, athletes, and people engaged in physical or expressive practice. The common thread is comfort with presence and embodied expression — not a look, a follower count, or a portfolio.
- Do I need modelling experience?
- No. Most collaborators have never modelled. Authenticity and willingness to engage with the process matter far more than posing experience.
- How are the images used?
- You receive a selection of edited images for personal use. I may also use selected images in my portfolio, exhibitions, or editorial work. Any commercial or promotional usage is discussed and agreed separately.
- Will this lead to paid work?
- Sometimes collaborators later commission personal or editorial projects; sometimes the collaboration stays purely creative. There is no expectation or obligation in either direction.
- Can brands or organisations apply?
- If a project has a commercial, promotional, or organisational objective, it sits outside this collaboration framework and is quoted as commissioned work instead.
- Can I bring someone with me to the shoot?
- Yes — you are welcome to bring one person for comfort and support. Just let me know in advance.
